Tag Day on Friday, October 30

Homework

5th Grade: Friday October 30- Vocabulary Quiz on lessons 8 & 9. Study the vocabulary worksheets.

We will finish discussing Lesson 9 tomorrow. Review on Friday, and Chapter 4 test will be on Tuesday.

7th Grade: Vocabulary- Unit 4 antonyms/synonyms. Test will be on Tuesday. Please note the link on my blog. You can use this to study if you like.
Reading: The Giver- Read chapters 17-19.

8th Grade: Vocabulary- Unit 4 Complete the sentences/antonyms/synonyms. Vocabulary test on Tuesday. Please note the link on my blog. You can use this to study if you like.

Welcome to the last week of October. Tag day is Friday. Bring in your $1.00 and wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.

5th Grade- Tomorrow we will finish up our invertebrate and vertebrate chart. If you have been out, I hope you are feeling better soon

Homework: finish reading lesson 9 and make sure you have completed both sides of the vocabulary worksheets you received yesterday.

7th and 8th grade:

With the beginning of second quarter you need to pick out a book of your choice to report on by the end of the quarter. I will need to approve your choice by the end of next week. I'm not picky as long as it is an appropriate choice for your age and reading level.

7th Grade: Vocabulary Unit 4- Write the words and definitions, and Complete the Sentence (page 54).

8th Grade:
Vocabulary Unit 4- Write the words and definitions.
Grammar: Verbs- Page 333 exercise 5, 6, & 7.

5th Grade:

Thank you to all who brought in vertebrates today. Our "show and tell" was fabulous and Mr. McKay even came by to visit our outdoor classroom. I'm very proud of all the kids and how well they behaved and worked on their assignment.

7thGrade:

No homework, enjoy your weekend.

8th Grade:

No homework, just work on your project!

7th Grade- 2nd draft of short story due tomorrow

8th Grade- Personal Narrative paper due tomorrow. Typed, minimum of one page double spaced, 12 pt, Times New Roman. ULTIMATE GIFT PROJECT DUE NOVEMBER 9.

I hope all the Grandparents enjoyed their morning at Charleston Catholic. 7th Grade, a few of you missed my morning classes. Make sure you complete the assignments for tonight.

5th Grade-

Vocabulary Lesson 8

7th Grade- If you were not in class today, please complete.
The Giver- Chapters 11-13 study questions
Plot outline- plot your topic for your short story. Follow the worksheet I sent home.
If you do not have a folder for English /Reading please get one. Periodically, I will give you handouts and you need somewhere to keep them besides being crumpled up in your desk!

8th Grade- Final draft of your paper is due Thursday. Typed one page minimum Double spaced.

Everybody has to study tonight!!

5th Grade- Big Science test tomorrow. Study you lesson outlines! Pay particular attention to the items we put on the board today. Study the diagram of the life cycle of the fern hint hint.... you might see that one again. Just study, you will do great!


7th grade- resumes due tomorrow typed-12 font-times new roman- use your sample as your guide. Test- "The Giver" chapters 1-10 STUDY YOUR STUDY GUIDES! Know them backwards and forwards. Know what happens to each age group and what it signifies.

BOOK REPORTS DUE THURSDAY! Put some effort into it. It is half you grade!


8th Grade- Quiz- "The Ultimate Gift" tomorrow. Look over your notes from today and you will do great! Know the major characters. Narrative essay "maps" ( the things we did on the board today, topic, character, setting, etc...) are due tomorrow. Come prepared to start writing your essay.


BOOK REPORTS DUE THURSDAY! Put some effort into it. It is half your grade!

5th grade- No homework tonight!! yeah! Test next week, either Wednesday or Thursday. Let's see how much we get through tomorrow.

7th Grade-
Read chapters 6&7 tonight and answer study guide questions. Start thinking about your resume. We will work on those in class.

Adverb quiz on Friday. ( I promise this time) Know adverbs that modify verbs, adjectives and adverbs. Do the exercised in the book to practice. Book reports due next Thursday. Look at the choices if you haven't done so yet.
