6th grade- Test on Tuesday. The kids have all the information they need. Vocabulary, outlines, notes, and circuit sheets.
We will begin Life Science next week. I originally was going to hold off on this section until the end of the year, but I am taking a class on life science and I would love to integrate what I'm doing with the class.
7th grade- Final typed copies of poems due Monday. I have to submit entries to SEWE by Thursday. We will be finishing up the Outsiders over the next two weeks.
8th Grade- Reading Test on Monday The House of Dies Drear.- vocabulary, reading comprehension, paragraph editing, and stage direction. They need to re-read the play focusing on content, stage direction, and camera angles. No vocabulary this week, it is included in reading.
I am very proud of how hard the class worked this week on their personal narratives. They completed a first draft last week and we will continue to revise and perfect these papers next week.
We will begin The Ultimate Gift next week. I have the book on CD and we will listen to it during class time. If you would like to have a written copy as well it can be purchased through any bookstore. Along with this book the students will complete a comprehensive project, which I will handout guidelines for this next week as well. We will use some class time to work on this, however, it will require out of school work as well. It is an involved project and can not be left to the last minute. Please encourage your child to work on it a little along the way. It will reflect in their final grade.
