WELCOME BACK!!

The classroom were full of wonderful moans and groans today. WE have a lot to do in a short amount of time.

5th Grade- Vocabulary- Chapter 6 Lesson 4.
We will have a quiz on Friday on Water Cycle, Carbon Cycles and Nitrogen Cycles. We covered two of them today.
Extra credit information tomorrow.

7th Grade- Vocabulary Test on Wednesday Unit 5 ( rollover from last week- definitions and complete the sentence)
Make sure you have the recipe you want to use for your descriptive writing.
Book reports due on December 14. Format will be given tomorrow. You may turn it in early!

8th Grade- Vocabulary homework- Completing the sentence- unit 5. Vocabulary Test on Monday.

Two more days!! I know everyone is looking forward to the long break. But we still need to wrap up a few things before we relax..

5th Grade-

Chapter 5 Test on Monday. Below is a copy of the study guide again.

Test format: 10 matching, 11 short answer with word bank, 5 essay questions. 3 diagrams with questions (food chain, food web, and food pyramid)

Things you should give attention to:

Vocabulary - Know the definitions along with examples if noted in book. (you should have note cards)

· Know the difference between producers, consumers and decomposers.

· Understand niches and how they affect a community

· Know the difference between and habitats, population and a community.

· Understand and be able to write about how people change the environment (growth, pollution,

Before Thanksgiving I want to wrap everything up so we can start all new material when we return on the 30th.

*** Your permission slips for the field trip are due tomorrow.

5th grade- We will have your chapter 3 test on Monday. I'm sorry it has to be on a Monday, but your Friday is FULL! Use the study guide I gave you today as a guide.

7th Grade- Your poetry test will be on Monday as well. I will have a study guide prepared for you later in the week. Your vocabulary quiz will be on Tuesday.
Homework for tomorrow- Write one sentence for each vocabulary word.


8th Grade- Your Anne Frank test will be on Friday. You will have vocabulary, reading comprehension, stage direction, and elements of drama on the test.

Homework for tonight- Vocabulary- Anne Frank Act II.

7th Grade- Graded papers have gone home, please have your parents look at them sign the folder and return both papers and folders to me tomorrow.

Welcome to November! Hope everyone had a safe and spooky Halloween. This is a busy week for all grades, so please check your child's assignment book daily to make sure they have all their assigments.

5th Grade- Chapter 4 test tomorrow. Re-read the chapters. There will be a chart on the test that list the major groups of animals ex. amphibians, reptiles, mammals, etc.. you need to list an example, tell me where they live, and what they eat or how they eat or if they are a flatworm/roundworm, what they feed off of. There are 10 short answers. Most of these come from questions pertaining to our discussions and the captions by the pictures. You will also have 15 fill in the blank. Be confident! You know this stuff!

7th grade- Short story paper due tomorrow. Love the one's I have read so far. Vocabulary Test Unit 4 tomorrow. I need to know what book you are reading on your own by Wednesday. Friday Reading test on The Giver.

8th Grade- Vocabulary unit 4 test tomorrow. I need to know what book you are reading this quarter by Wednesday. The Ultimate Gift project due November 9.
