5th Grade- You are amazing! The commercials we have viewed so far are wonderful. And the models and brochures look terrific. I love your effort and enthusiasm. Please finish your open book test and remember your pledge to me today. See you tomorrow.


7th Grade- Outsiders test tomorrow and then we should be able to finish up our movie. Writing will begin next week.

8th Grade- You are off to a great start with your topics. We may needs to broaden or narrow your topics as you begin to look for information. We are almost finished with our novel and you will have a test on that mid week. Sources and bibliographies will be due mid week as well, so start looking.

5th grade- Planet projects due tomorrow. Open book test tomorrow on lessons 3 & 4. With the project presentations and the fact that this chapter has 4 lessons, I'm afraid they will lose momentum. and it will become too much info to remember after a few weeks.

7th grade- The Outsiders- complete chapters 10-12 on your study guide, test on Friday. We will be watching the movie Thursday and Friday. Their next paper will be a comparison/contrast paper between the movie and the book.

8th Grade- Sorry but we are playing catch up from yesterday. Bless the Beast & the Children- Read chapters 15& 16. Complete the classwork from today: Chapter 10-12 vocabulary, questions ( page 12 ) & questions for discussion ( page 13) plus literary Devices I symbolism. Chapter 13-15 vocabulary and questions (page 14) & questions for discussion

Vocabulary- you will use the words from your reading packets. Chapters 1&2, 3-6, 10-12, 13-15. Copy your words out of your packet so you can study at home.

Sorry for the late post, we were celebrating Gray's 5th birthday.

5th Grade- Beginning our new chapter. We are reading the lesson in class and will use the Lesson Outlines again to highlight the major points. Planet project is due next Wednesday. Please email me if you or your child has any questions regarding this.

7th Grade- Tomorrow- preposition and conjunction test. Non-fiction reading project due Friday. Homework tonight- spelling worksheet

8th Grade- Preposition and conjunction test- Friday. Homework tonight- Spelling words 5 times each, first page of prep/conj review. I will stay after school tomorrow to help anyone who needs some one on one review.

Here's how our week is going to look

5th Grade- Test on Chapter 9 Thursday. Below is the study guide I gave out today. Please disregard the duplicate, I copied it from my handout. We will review and watch a movie on planets over the next two days. Please bring in your notecards so you can work in pairs quizzing each other on vocabulary. I am finalizing the Planet Project and will hand out to you tomorrow or Wednesday. It will be due on January 26. Although we will have completed our planet unit, the kids still have lots of questions and have an interest in the solar system. The project will also involve an oral presentation. More to come.

7th Grade- Spelling this week -ie and -ei. Easily confused, complete the handout and we will go over tomorrow. Read chapter 6 in Outsiders and we will work on questions tomorrow as well. Spelling test on Friday

8th Grade- spelling handout -ie -ei. Quiz on Friday. Read chapter 6 in Bless the Beast & Children. We will continue to look at prepositions and conjunctions this week.
